  1. Well, when we run out of volume on 16bit CDs, we’ll just make everyone switch to 20bit - then we have 4 MORE LOUDS TO WORK WITH!!!

Right? I mean, that’s how it works, right? Stick, back me up man.

  2. I’m already mixing at 16.5bit. It’s only .5 louder, but every little bit helps.

  3. Don’t forget that 88.2 sample rate.

  4. Well, that’s an industry misnomer… you can’t really make 88.2 any louder, just twice as bloated and unruly.

  5. I actually read a pretty interesting article about this… How music in general has been getting louder and sound quality in production stages has drastically decreased over the last decade or so, and comparisons between the quality of vinyl, CDs, and mp3… I’ll try and find it & post a link.

  6. Dude, Metallica was the only thing that kept me from offing myself in grade 12. They can play as loudly as they bloody well please. For the sake of the children.

  7. If every little bit helps, then what does half a bit do?

  8. Well, I’d essplain it to you, but then all the haters would be stealin’ my biz.

  9. if you collect enough half-bits, you can autotune them into a Britney Spears record.

  10. The Scene : Monday night spin class at 24 hour fitness.

    Chad : (panting)
Erica : What is this music?
    Chad : I think it’s (pant) Rihanna.
Erica : It sounds like music for robots.

I seriously thing Rihanna should consider naming her next record, “Music for Robots.”

  11. if not, I’m totally doing that record as a class project.
