I love the Exploratorium. I think I went on a field trip in 7th grade. I also loved the sound exhibits.

I went there as a fifth grader on a field trip, then became a fifth grade teacher who took her students there. It is right next to the Palace of Fine Arts, so also a beautiful place to picnic.

An intriguing "sound" exhibit (I was trying to be brief for an *aside*!) was a listening station in which you listen to five couples argue, then decide which couple was arguing correctly. It was all about TONE and the science of human relationships (The Gottman Institute). If I could find it online, I would post it.

Oh my gosh, I totally went there in the late eighties/early nineties-ish. My family must have been on some vacation from Oregon. I brought home a holographic button that I wore on my denim jacket for like the next six years. Sigh, memories.
