I miss LA. More like I miss Zuma beach, Malibu Seafood, Jerry's Deli, and Versailles. Sometimes I fancy I miss the people too. I think a lot of people are too intense in Silicon Valley. Seems like people in LA play more...I don't know. But I don't miss the traffic or the horrible car (or boyfriends) I had when I lived there. But I do miss living near you, June! Anyway, I'm reading (when I can) Barbara Kingsolver's Animal Vegetable Miracle and totally want to live on a farm now.

I only live 90 minutes from L.A., and the difference still startles me when we're down there. They've got some good (the Getty, for instance), but the bad and the ugly seem to stand out more and more the longer I'm away. (Not that Ventura County is the be-all, but at least people are friendly.)

I look forward to your next trip south, June. Put an Ojai BBQ on the books.

Awesome! And we loved meeting you and Stick while you were here. As a uprooted Northern Californian who has been transplanted here in lovely ol' LA, I hear ya. But I'm learning how to find the "beautiful California" right here as well. It's starts with great friends...
