… the Grammar Nazis, to be precise. I expect that there are only two people who will find this interesting: Aly, and me in 10 months when I stumble back across it in the archives. The guy who is in charge of language usage for the New York Times is answering questions from the galley.

(#)Off to the studio this week to record a Christmas album. It's approximately 158 degrees in Burbank so I'm in an appropriately wintery mood, of course. Any suggestions for how to invoke the spirit o' the (not yet in) season?

NAFTA, NAFTA, NAFTA!
ROTFLAM!
It’s so nice to know that there are other people who sit around obsessing over “none is” and “none are” and likely have rigorous discussions with their coworkers that nearly come to blows over “like” and “such as.” I feel like way less of a freak today.
Though I was offended that one reader called The Chicago Manual of Style “cumbersome.” Sure it is, dude. So is the Bible, but we don’t write complaint letters to the editor of the Koran.
This was a great article! I come from a family of word nerds, so this is stuff I obsess about. It’s nice to be vindicated. It’s also nice to see where I should lighten up.
Thanks for posting!
Oh, man, I’m seriously geeking out here…
