Though, one of my first Macs had a sweet 3D looking graphing program. Seems like I made it through Calculus I with your basic calculator. I don't know about you, but I'd rather not draw 36 lines and try to count all the intersections. The other way's faster, but not as, well, novel. Come on, Stick, don't you remember slide rules?
