We’re off to get THE BIG PICTURE! The ultrasound that will tell us the sex of our baby. We’re taking bets in this thread. I’m giving 4:3 on boy.

(#)Off to the studio this week to record a Christmas album. It's approximately 158 degrees in Burbank so I'm in an appropriately wintery mood, of course. Any suggestions for how to invoke the spirit o' the (not yet in) season?

(#)"First, we will set up a single goal to represent educational success, which will take four years to achieve no matter what is being taught. We will attach an economic reward to it that seldom has anything to do with what has been learned. We will urge large numbers of people who do not possess adequate ability to try to achieve the goal, wait until they have spent a lot of time and money, and then deny it to them. We will stigmatize everyone who doesn't meet the goal. We will call the goal a 'BA.'" [link]

I’m hoping for a boy, but Gretchen looks more like she’s carrying a girl. I’m in for $5.
I haven’t seen Gretchen in awhile but I am going with girl too….
So…
Yup. We found out.
Thanks for asking!
I’ll say girl.
And Michael, you’re just mean.
It’s totally a girl. Michael’s not being mysterious, he’s just sulking.
Mike, I am eating lunch in my classroom today, enjoying the quiet. Twice I’ve had to stop because you made me laugh to hard to eat.
If it’s a boy, he and Sophia can have ALL of our hand-me-downs. Can I shoot them through the internet tubes? Or do I need a “server”?
Drat. I was hoping my jovial needling would draw Michael out - you know, sort of a “I’m NOT sulking! The gender of our newest little one is _____! So there, nyah…” etc. Alas, he won’t be needled into disclosure. Anybody here good at sweet talk?
Sharolyn - funny girl.
Ooh, ooh I know, pick me!
It’s a boy! I also thought we were having another little girl, Mike claims he knew all along it was a boy. Boy, oh boy is it a boy. Yeah, the little guy wasn’t shy at his ultrasound.
Praise God! We are excited. He’s a healthy kid, kicks like crazy, I’m tired thinking about keeping up with these two already.
Yes, Sharolyn (June, Karen…) we will gratefully take any and all hand me downs you would like to send our way. Better yet, bring them out in August when you all visit for the summer and come to the “Sure, I’ll Eat That” dinner party.
Thank you all for the well wishes. It’s exciting to celebrate with this extended family too.
OMG PONIES!!!!11
A boy - that’s so wonderful. Warm congratulations to you both, and THANK YOU, Gretchen (glares at Michael), for putting us out of our misery.
“‘Round and around us they go…”
Yeah for boys!! Congrats! Now you get the comments like “Oh, you have one of each, you aren’t having anymore ….are you?”
I am so excited for all three of you.
So August… Bummer, I will only be out in June for the APU reunion.
June is good. We always love an excuse to throw a party :)
How long has that little orange banner been up there at the top?
Whoo-hooooooooo! Happy for all of you!
And Karen is right…prepare yourselves for the ridiculous “one of each” comments. Sometimes when people hear we have two boys they say “So, are you going to try for a girl?” I’m almost always tempted to say something like “Oh, no… we’re going to try for a chimpanzee actually.”
I have hand-me-downs like you wouldn’t believe…but after two boys wearing them…well…they’re ALL play clothes.
When is the August dinner party? There should be a prize for anyone who gets Brian to actually say the words “Sure, I’ll eat that!”
Whoo-hoo again!

It only shows up when I have something awesome to announce. It showed up right after G left the comment.
