Chike

Has anyone seen the movie, The Holiday? Hubby and I agree that in said movie, Jack Black is a cross between Chad and Mike. We’re watching it and calling him Chike.

No, Stick does not call me hubby. I posted that. And by “I posted that” I mean, I said “I want to post something…would you, O husband of mine, do it for me please?” -june

seems like life is complicated enough without all of the gender confusion floating around.

The only solution I can think of is for you to finally get off your butt and let me give you an author account, June.

I fear The Chike. We almost rented that tonight. We got Stranger Than Fiction instead, which is my new favoritest movie ever.

I recommended Stranger than Fiction, like, months ago. You’re only just now renting it? Don’t you trust me?

    I LOVE Stranger Than Fiction.
    Totally brilliant.

Stranger Than Fiction is my new favoritest as well! We watched it on B’s laptop while on the plane to Michigan a few weeks ago. We also noshed on a vast picnic lunch we’d picked up on the way to the airport and our seats were in the roomy exit aisle. We call this: diy 1st class.

The Holiday is not great, but the Chike is undeniable.

Mike, you can give me an author’s account but don’t expect me to write anything. If there were a Roadie entrance exam, I’m sure I wouldn’t pass. And my lowest score would be on the vocab section…or perhaps critical thinking…or maybe the political savviness portion, or…

It just came out on DVD, and Aly’s recommendation was the one that pushed it over the top over several other viable candidates for our Blockbuster Night.

I wouldn’t worry about it if I were you, our standards are pretty low. You should see how lousy Matt’s scores where on the Swimsuit Competition portion of the exam.

We also loved Stranger than Fiction. We got it through Netflix last week. Now Babel…not sure that the desired audience response was the two people watching, turning to each other at the end and saying “huh” in unison.

We will be watching for “Chike” next week. The Holiday is next up on our list.

If I’m right, and Mike, Stick, and I were separated at birth, we’re “The Chikeler.”

Considering I am posting about three months late on this thread I feel as if this will be like screaming at rats in a dark hallway, but nevertheless….

“The Holiday” was T-E-R-R-I-B-L-E! Couldn’t even finish it. Really awful, which is a shame because I like JB and LOVE Kate Winslet and LOVE-LOVE Jude Law, (mostly for things that have nothing to do with his acting though). However, I could have bet my fish on Cameron dumb-dumb Diaz doing a silly “I’m a crazy, hot independent, uncontrollable, deranged - but still HOT female - dance!” That moment seriously made me cringe. The highlight of the movie was “the boob graze” by JB and Jude Law’s kids. Seriously. That was it.

    Hello? (hello….hello….echo….echo….echo)

Sara, yes it was terrible…made so mostly by the just way dumb plot (of course a guy who looks like Jude Law would be a single homebody…no stretch there, no, not at all.) and Cameron’s dancing. But, did you see what I mean about the Chike?

I’ve only met Mike once and I’ve known Chad for 16 years:

    That said, I TOTALLY agree!

I’m the reindeer on the right, and Chad’s the Lion in the middle…

    In case you were curious.

A Jack Black in the making.

    :)

The Holiday was playing on a plane not too long ago. I think I watched the images while I listened to the Relevant Magazine podcast (highly recommended) on my iPod instead. There was a time when I thought Ms. Diaz was cool (back when there was something about mary, I presume) but now she does the same thing as accidentally leaving a tag in the back of my shirt. I think it was the day she was on Oprah and said that since our current administration holds a position on abortion - even in the case of rape - that our president supports rape. Uh, hello? She’s dead to me. Shuuuuuuun the illogical bombshellllll… shuuuUUUUUUUuuunnnnnn….
