Totally number of Intel Mac computers in my possession = 2
Total number of Intel Mac computers that have had catastrophic hard-drive meltdowns since Christmas = 3
Yup. While the IT guys are busy lifting data off of my macbook pro hard drive, I had been using a loaner. Brand new, outo of the box, clean install, beautiful. Well, yesterday afternoon, it crashed. Hard. Whole sectors of the hard drive are whipped out, completely missing. It won’t boot.
I know what you’re thinking. “Well, certainly Mike, you took your own excellent advice and created a bootable backup of your data, right?”. Ah, my friends, you constantly underestimate the depths of my stupidity. And I love you for it.
Dear Mac. Seriously. Could not be a bigger fan. Really. But I’m about to throw it all out and go back to quill and vellum if this keeps happening. Love, Me.

You have a truly terrifying Angry Face.
Then never should have let intel touch a Mac. Now everything is going wrong. The old power PC Macs still work great, it is that intel stuff that keeps messing up something great.
Should I just take a baseball bat to the MacPro right now and save time?
You know, that hot young guy in the Mac commercials really had me going.
Cerise
Oh my gosh…I’m soooo using that face for some design thingy.
Nice orthodonture!
Save this picture for Sophia’s dates.
dell desktop for sale. p4 2.4gig processor, 740 megs of ram, logic 4.8 platinum installed.
wow, man. I thought Macs were perfect. Like, all the time. Lets all say what the truth is. MacBooks are pretty crappy. Say all you want about design and interface. I agree but who cares if it self destructs? Heat issues, bad video cards, bad hard drives. I guess Apple was too used to their wimpy inferior Power PC chips not producing any power (and therefor no heat) and forgot to design cooling in those pretty cases.
Sorry Mike, I feel your pain.
And Jon, Jobs is a genius becuase he realized that Apple could stay stagnant and only sell to fan boys or he could start making a product that could compete blow for blow with superior (and cheaper) hardware. On that note Mike, did you see that they are going to release a SATA XRaid? I guess they finally realized that 13k for 7tb was a little ridiculous.
OK.
There’s a creepy picture of people slaughtering a sheep in some sort of ornate assembly hall.
Yuck and poor sheepy, sez I.
What’s this Flickr doo-dad set to again?
Cerise
Wow. Should I be worried that Sophia may inherit that angry face gene?
What, you…haven’t seen her angry yet? My.
Cerise
I can testify, Sophia’s angry face looks almost exactly like this.
I’m with Cerise. I thought Michael’s mad face was scary until I noticed the Flickr shots. Creepsville.
the tag is set to “prayer”

he….he..he….good one Cerise.
Yeah. We have. For some reason though, she goes into full fledge melt down, hit everything in the vicinity, and fall on the floor crying. Hmmm, come to think of it she got that gene from Mike too.
Oh, dear.
Can someone let those people know that Christ died for us, and that we no longer have to do that?

Ok….Ingrid and I are going to use this pic for our first line of Music Tech t-shirts!!!! hahaaaa
Dang dude.
1) I have a brand new 17″ MacBookPro–never had a problem with it. I’ve had it since October…done some pretty hefty things with it. It’s made my legs sweat with its molten-lava heated core…
2) You must be doing/downloading something Wicked-horrible for it to crash like that 3 times…
3) You look like Satan.
end of story.
Sharolyn, are you being funny? I can’t tell.
Cerise
Well, Stick made me do some total sell-out pop string orchestrations last week in Logic … could that be what I’m being punished for?
Well, if it helps, my main desktop PC has been out of commission for a couple months with a bad video card, because I am too lazy to replace it all by myself.
…but the hard drive is fine. It’s only three years old though.
looks like it might be time to turn that puppy into a headless home NAS server, to download and stream all of the *ahem* perfectly legal media you’ve been collecting. No need for a video card, just get yourself all command line linux up on that puppy.
It’s what all the cool nerds are doing, Bobby. At least, out here on the coast they are.
it’s time to go back to Atari computers.
they worked
Atari! - and they were Mac OS too… I think… weren’t they? Had a hard time choosing between the Atari and Mac Plus (a full meg of RAM!!!!).
Anyway, kind of glad I’m still using this old skool PowerBook.
In my transition back to old school tech, this is going to be my new PDA: The Hipster PDA
What’s Atari?

No, that’s what made the Mac hold on for as long as it did. The sheer joy of CCM… “music for soccer Moms”.
Now, if it had been for a beer commercial or something… watch out!
Dan, please move to the back of the room with all the other children. The grown-ups are talking.
I really want Jeremy to jump in here and see what he can do about some CG flames shooting from your nostrils.
Yes, yes nostril flames! Puleeease Jeremy?!
And dear, why should us soccer moms not have our own music? Do you an issue with soccer? With moms? And for your info, there is zero CCM on my ipod.
Can anyone print us up some shirts with the Mikey satan face on ‘em? Buttons perhaps?
Corey decided to take it to 11
And then June wanted in on the game:
Two ’shopped pictures and still no flames? Come ON.

give it time, girl. give it time.
Matt has officially made me wet my pants.
Oh, man. I don’t have the words.
Matt has officially made me wet my pants.
…thus fulfilling item #7 on my “10 Things to Do Before I Die” list.
Matty wins.
Who is it around here that does trailers?
I do trailers from time to time, but it’s not our main gig.
If you’re inquiring about some of the effects for the 300 trailer that Mike posted about, you’re thinking of Jeremy.
He’s my hero.
Don’t end the contest yet. I put a lot of time into another one but I dunno how to post pix in comments. I mean, I spent, literally, dozens of minutes on this thing.
1) upload it to a flickr account
2) there’ll give you the code to post images via html
3) use that.
Damn…
Look who’s become the new queen of html.
And, Corey, I’m pretty sure the new queen just called you stupid.
Wow.
That.
picture.
is.
so.
so…
okay. here’s the latest. It’s not Matty’s, but like I said, I spent twelves of minutes on this.
I miss my childhood…
screw it. it stopped being funny long before I ever clicked on the airbrush tool in photoshop.
Niiiiiiiice.
I happen to dig it.
And you’re not allowed to criticize your own work. That’s our job.
Corey, you silly. That’s fabulous! I especially like the one where he looks like an enraged kitty.
Cerise
KISS and Michael Lee, together again. It’s meant to be.
This is one of my earliest memories of liking music. “Beth” was one of my favorite songs. Funny how things come around.
