Phreaky Phriday: Dark Side of the Rainbow

This one goes out to Thom and Linda, who will one day sit around the “End of Summer BBQ” firepit and tell us what it was like to be alive and in Berkley back in the day.

You know that whole thing about synchronizing “The Wizard of Oz” with Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon”? Well, here it is, kiddos.

Does one’s appreciation for the reputed synchronization of “Wizard of Oz” and “Dark Side of the Moon” require concurrent ingestion of any controlled (or perhaps uncontrolled) substances? For those of us who were in Campus Crusade and got haircuts every other week during the 60s, this one’s a bit of a stretch.

I can envision someone blaring Pink Floyd at just the right moment while “Wizard” was showing on CBS some Sunday night many moons ago. The TV was on but the sound turned down, mind-altering molecules were wafting through the air, and the rest is history.

Could I try the same thing with a margarita, “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik” and “Jaws”?
