Michael, who the heck says THAT is "balanced?!" I was thinking more along the lines of 'disturbed.' My alarm clock: a sweet five-year-old patting my face sometime between 7:00 and 7:30am (or, God Bless America, sometime even later!!) and saying "Can I have my waffles now?...Can I have my waffles now?...Can I have my waffles now?"
That, my friend, is balance...nuthin' but ying-yang as far as the eye can see. Need some Feng Shui in your house?...stay asleep every morning until such time that your toddler develops not-to-be-ignored vocal projection abilities. It's good for their lungs, I tell ya!

Chad, do I really need to tell you that in the valley it was police helicopters, hooligans and countless canines that awoke me every morning before the crack of dawn? No the answer is simply that you all must move here. It really is just that simple.

You have my sympathy on the non-sleeping night. Intravenous coffee is my only advice.

Speaking of, I had coffee with a mom from my son's preschool the other day and she casually mentioned that she likes to get up "a good two hours before" her two small children awaken, in order to "get things done." Then, she said that her kiddos had "slept in" until 6:30am that morning. After sputtering on my latte, I said "So, what time do you get up...5:00am?" Her meek response: "ohhh, 4-4:30-am usually." After choking on my latte, I said "Sooo, do you go to bed at like, 7:00pm?" Her response: "Oh no, I just don't need much sleep."

Ever heard of Stepford? It's right down the road from us I believe.

Oof, god. Poor people.

Y'know, Simone (cat) wouldn't let me go back to sleep at 9am this morning. She just yowled in the bedroom doorway until I got up. So, that's kind of like what you guys are...no? No, I guess not.

Neither does Lucy. On weekdays, 6 AM is great (Soph probably gets up earlier), but on weekends I am personally offended.
