Phreaky Phriday: The Simplified Spelling Society
Recently, I’ve been looking for a cause that I can throw my enormous celebrity weight behind, and I think I’ve finally found it. The Simplified Spelling Society is looking to overthrown the English language, and they’re going to do it with the power of Poetry.

As a former 1st grade teacher, I applaud these poems. My way of teaching these strange pronunciations, when they didn’t follow our phonics rules: throw up your hands, and have the kids shout “It’s the CRAZY English language”!
I would’ve loved you as a teacher, I think. Shouting was not the thing in my childhood classes, which was a pity. It’s one of the only things I can do well…
