DVC in the news

With The DaVinci Code film release right around the corner, the debate escalates. I was glad to see this even-handed report from Yahoo! on Dan Brown’s “factual” claims and the responses of his critics (who hail from across a wide theological spectrum). Also, if you have a few minutes, N.T. Wright’s sermon for Maundy Thursday is an amazing read; he turns what could have been a tirade into good news.

Thanks for that Aly! Bobby and I are both big readers but have not read The Davinchi Code yet. It is on the list. Since we go to the church we do everyone is recommending the books about why you shouldn’t read it. I suppose if you do not know what you believe reading a book in the “faction” catagory could be confusing.

It’s made even more confusing by an author who doesn’t really know that he’s writing “faction”.

From everything I’ve read that he’s said in interviews and articles, the author thinks that his retelling of the early history of the church is pretty factually accurate.
