I’ve always loved the song “O Holy Night”. It wasn’t until I found this stirring rendition, however, that it became permanently fixed as one of my all-time favorites. It’s amazing how you can hear a song for years, and yet someone can come along and perform it in a way that makes it brand new.

Ahhhh… that’s wonderful. Reminds me of a rendition I heard on a KROQ Christmas CD a few years back with Cartman singing. Pretty awesome.

You are making the baby Jesus very very sad. In which god-forsaken corner of the internet did you find this?

it was emailed to me several years ago by that darkes of all demonic influences, Sharolyn Borris (Engel)

I love how he manages to get every “special music” nightmare in…the screaching for the too high note, taking it down an octave, going flat, and my favorite, the breath in the middle of the really long note. Excellent.
Rod Cathey 7:37 pm on 20 December 2005 Permalink
And how about the pathos of the heartfelt spoken part? That, and the breath in the long note, are my favorites!

Mike –
Your singing really is improving as you get older. It just goes to — oh wait…that wasn’t you?

How do you edit these “web-logs”? Anyone know where I can find a good intro course on Mac and internet fundamentals?

Okay … at first I was excited. I thought I was going to hear something really special. Then I was a little disappointed when it wasn’t as good as I thought it would be. Then I was worried the speakers on my computer were going out. Then I was a little angry that you wasted my highly valuable time with that garbage.
Recently, however, I have progressed to the mildly amused stage. Thanks for sharing!

Clark – I recommend listening to it 9 or 10 more times. You’ll come all the way back around to weeping in laughter by the end.

I wish I could of stopped after 9 or 10 times. I now have it playing in a continuous loop. I can’t stop listening to it.
I think I actually like it now.
Please help me ….

I don’t know which is funnier, the post itself or Mike’s retorts. Thanks, Mike. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve gotta go tape my ass back on.

Ummm, Ok Ness, Spill it – Robb was using the Karioke machine while drinking again? They have special support groups. . . I’ll keep praying. Hint – Next time don’t hide the wine next to the microphone.

Am I supposed to know who this is? It’s oddly familiar, but…
Oh, man. How did I miss this the first time around? I laughed so hard I did it all, the snorting of foreign liquid, the couching fit, aching back and stomach, uncontrollable heaving – I could go on.
God bless this person, whoever they are.

Cerise,
Me too! Coffee out my nose this morning. Thanks Addison Road.
(The extra weird thing was that as I listened to this from my laptop, I could also hear Chad and Erica singing in the background…it’s a long story…ask B to post a FLY song.)
