The Kingdom of God wrecks havoc on every culture it redeems. Just a brief reminder that we are not the first, will not be the last people to struggle through the difficult waters of living in the Jesus sort of way while being temporal, culturally situated people.

Dude, as a cynical ex-missionary kid of a denomination that routinely and with impunity shat on the ancient cultural mores around us, do NOT get me started…

Seriously, thanks for bringing this to our attention. It’s a wonderful story, and it cheers me to hear about a very good sort of missionary who works to facilitate spiritual relief of the soul THROUGH the people around him. Not TO them or in spite of them. Truly, this is a good thing for a hardened old so-and-so like me to hear; some Christians are doing it right. Some missionaries are doing good and doing no harm. May I tell you from my perspective how rare that is?

Cerise, as a non-missionary kid with absolutely zero experience in the field, I can, without reservation or more then 30 seconds of reflection, state that this missionary is clearly apostate.

[laughing] Chad, you make me smile. In the Lord, I mean.
