phil shackleton

For those of you who may not know him, Phil Shackleton is the most extraordinary sort of person. He’s brilliant (in the actual, IQ 160+ sort of way), can listen to any piece of music and give you a full harmonic analysis of it on the fly, equally conversant in art, theology, philosphy, music, politics, and the inner workings of nonlinear computation. In one second, he can drop a breathtakingly beautiful voicing of a dominant 7th chord on you, and in the next, explain how q-bit quantum processors work.

Many of the formative features of my personality are directly attributable to time spent in his company. In college, I wanted to be just like him, only with better fashion sense. So far, I’ve failed at both.

All that to say, he’s blogging. Specifically, he’s blogging on music and theology. In the way that only he can. You should definitely check it out.
