I just caught this in the archive-o-matic, and thought that I would interject that one Denni Bellessi has taken over as interim there since this news broke. I wonder how he’s doing?

Oh, the humanity. You know, I was a little shocked by the “Ministry Council’s” response to the press. It almost sounded like they were trying to make Kirk out to be a malcontent and they have no idea what the fuss is about. That chills me a bit, though I have no knowledge of the church and its workings.

One interesting point I saw was that the chair of the minstry council says point-blank that the council doesn’t seem have any qualms about seeking less and less input from congregation members vis a vis directional decisions (I assume) as the church grows. That very statement and the fact that it’s acknowledged without a flicker of the eye is why I don’t believe large churches work.
