Hello! God is obviously specific about some things and general about others. One thing that God is specific about is that your life revolves around worshiping Him and doing your best to follow Him no matter what. He is not so specific about what life path you choose or how you get there. So I would suggest to you that whatever life path you choose, now that you are at 30, you make sure that it will not interfere with your ability to worship God. God wants you to have fellowship with other believers and be a part of a church community, therefore you shouldn't choose a career that will take you away from church. Within Christianity you have freedom to make those choices, however, make sure that you do your best to make sure they don't interfere with the things that God specifically wants from you. Hope this helps.

I can't think of a better comment to give you than point you to Garry Friesen's 'Decision making and the will of God'.... excellent book.
